Hall Peters is graphic designer and artist from Northern California living in New York City. He studied art history and fine art at the University of Virginia with a focus in painting and printmaking and continued his studies after moving to New York to focus on graphic design at the School of Visual Arts where he was a Rhodes Scholar and honors student.
With a background in fine art and design history, his work in graphic design is informed by the past and the foundational pillars of studio art while navigating the modern and contemporary landscape of design. As a freelance designer he has worked in branding, art direction, editorial, print design, logo work, packaging, motion graphics and the experiential design of physical spaces. He has worked with clients ranging from individuals creating new brands from scratch, to established companies collaborating with high profile brands.
Along with skiing, reading, running and music, Hall’s favorite pursuit outside of his design work is painting. He creates work that focuses on color and texture to communicate emotion and narrative. His paintings aim to immerse viewers, encouraging them to discover stories and personality within each piece. There is intention within the abstraction. Hall hopes to evoke specific emotions and to elevate the spaces where his art resides - creating interaction between himself and the viewer. He draws inspiration from his environment be it at home in New York City, Northern California, Sun Valley, or on the road.
